The Australian Nursing Federation (Tas Branch) is run by nurses for nurses. Our goal is to provide members with all the protection nurses need, as employees and as members of the nursing profession.

Being part of the ANF maximises the influence of nurses on professional and industrial issues. It means joining over 170,000 nurses all over Australia who are working together to achieve better pay, improvements in professional status, healthier working conditions, greater job security, and advancement of careers and education - both now and in the future.

The ANF promotes and protects the interests of all nurses and is at the forefront of campaigns to defend nurses' workplace rights and to protect and improve our healthcare system and institutions.

As nurses we are concerned about a whole range of issues which have an impact on nursing - for example, health funding, professional standards, industrial relations and quality patient care. These are issues which require the combined strength and resources of nurses to research, prepare and present issues to the government and to the community.

By joining together, we are able to identify and provide comprehensive services and representation for nurses. No other organisation provides nurses with the professional representation and peace of mind that our insurance offers today.

The Federation is comprised of a national office with branches in every state and territory. ANF is the nursing organisation listened to by community leaders, education experts, legal authorities, governments and employers and is the peak body promoting professional standards of nursing practice.
